Oscar Nominated Composer Joins Piggy

It is with great pleasure that I announce that two time Oscar nominated composer David Hirschfelder has agreed to come on to PIGGY as our composer. David is literally my favourite composer who I got to work with on my International award winning documentary Salute. David’s credits are huge. Those outside the film industry would also know David as the keyboard player for John Farnham back in the day but his composing skills are second to none in Australia and around the World.

David Hirschfelder has more awards to his name than anyone I know. As a musician he has been a member of Little River Band and John Farnham Band. He has composed film scores for many of Australia’s greatest films including Strictly Ballroom, Australia (Starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman), The Railway Man, The Water Diviner and the Dressmaker. Some of my favourite films he has composed would be Shine and Elizabeth (Which earned him two Oscar Nominations).

One of the things a lot of people don’t know is that when I’m writing a script, I’m usually writing to music. The goto spotify playlist I use most often is David Hirschfelders music. It always gets me in the mood to write more powerful screenplays.

It is such a huge thrill to work with David again on this amazing film and we look forward to seeing what power he brings to the film.
